Overview:
YaizY is a tech startup organization that teaches kids in grades K-12 how to code online. At the time I designed this virtual course 1-page flyer, their founders were based in the country of Georgia and their desire was to break into the U.S. market. The goal(s) of the flyer was lead generation and brand awareness as YaizY was brand new to the K-12 scene. The plan was to email the flyer as a print-ready file to support easy sharing amongst school administrators and staff.

Challenge:
The design challenge(s) was designing an engaging, informative piece that allowed design elements to breathe with clear CTAs for U.S. based school administrators. Also, with YaizY being a new startup, their brand standards were piecemeal and they weren’t sure what direction they wanted to go in.

Approach:
Overall, YaizY had a fun brand to work with. I had a creative discovery session with them, and I narrowed it down to some core elements: logo, typography, color, and shape. I asked a lot about their target audience and their end user–kids. I wanted this flyer to stand out from the rest and highlight how their product(s) prepare kids for future careers in a fun, engaging way. I had a lot of cool illustrations and screenshots at my disposal so I incorporated those into the flyer, drawing you in with the stock photo of the child learner at the very top. Their logo utilizes a funky hand shape so I lightly sprinkled similar shapes as callouts in the flyer. Overall, I wanted it to be a fun, energetic flyer that informed with easy to find CTAs for school administrators. I also thought beyond this flyer giving YaizY a template to use for future product rollouts and quick sales opportunities.

Outcome:
The flyer was well received by school administrators and staff. YaizY received a 1% increase in requests for information.
